CrossWave Cordless Max — full review

Bissell's entry into the wet-dry cordless category at $299 — $200 less than the Tineco Floor One S5. Vacuums and washes simultaneously on hard floors and area rugs. Two-tank system keeps clean water and dirty water separate throughout the clean. The pet hair strainer in the dirty water tank makes hair disposal less messy. Runtime is 30 minutes, shorter than the Tineco. The most affordable all-in-one cordless floor cleaner, and a portion of every purchase goes to Bissell's pet rescue foundation.

In-depth review

The Bissell CrossWave Cordless Max occupies the budget end of the wet-dry cordless floor cleaner category. At $299, it is $200 less than the Tineco Floor One S5 and delivers a functional vacuum-and-wash experience, though with some compromises on performance and runtime.

The two-tank design is the CrossWave's most practical feature. Clean water and cleaning solution are stored separately from dirty water, so you are always washing with clean solution and never re-depositing dirty water on clean floors. At the end of each session, the dirty water tank is removed and emptied without touching the recovered debris — a more hygienic experience than single-tank designs.

The pet hair strainer built into the dirty water tank collects hair separately, preventing it from matting into the water tank filter. For households with multiple pets, this reduces cleaning time and makes filter maintenance less unpleasant.

The CrossWave handles both hard floors and area rugs — a step up from the Tineco Floor One S5, which is hard-floor only. The distinction matters for open-plan living areas with area rugs; the CrossWave transitions without requiring a different tool or mode change.

The 30-minute runtime is the shortest here and is the most significant practical limitation. Larger homes may need a mid-session recharge for a full clean. Suction performance is adequate for hard floors and light debris but noticeably weaker than the Tineco on heavier soil. As a second dedicated floor cleaner for hard-floor households, or as the primary cleaner in a smaller apartment, it delivers well at its price point.
