The Tineco Floor One S5 requires a different frame of reference than the other models in this comparison. It is not a stick vacuum that also mops. It is a wet-dry floor cleaner that uses simultaneous vacuuming and water application to clean hard floors in a single pass, more thoroughly and more quickly than sequential vacuuming then mopping.
The iLoop Smart Sensor continuously measures the dirt concentration in the water being recovered from the floor and adjusts both suction power and water flow rate in response. In heavily soiled areas, it increases both automatically. In clean areas, it reduces them, conserving battery and water. The sensor response is fast enough to handle transitions between clean and dirty areas in a single pass without manual intervention.
The self-cleaning function at the end of each clean runs clean water and a cleaning solution through the brush roll for 30 seconds, removing the dirt and hair that would otherwise decompose in the brush roll overnight and create odours. For the previous generation of wet-dry cleaners, this was the biggest maintenance complaint — the Tineco addresses it directly.
For a household that is primarily hard floor — tile, luxury vinyl plank, hardwood — the Floor One S5 genuinely replaces both a traditional stick vacuum and a mop. The combined time saving is significant; a floor that previously required a sequential vacuum session (10–15 min) and a separate mop session (10–15 min) is cleaned in a single 15-minute pass.
The limitations are absolute: this is not a carpet cleaner. The brush roll will not function properly on carpet and is not designed for it. At 4.5 kg with a full water tank, it is also the heaviest machine here. The 35-minute runtime is shorter than traditional stick vacuums, though sufficient for most apartment or single-floor cleans.
